Review: 2017 Nissan Titan XD

Performance

The 2017 Titan XD comes available with two engine options. The Endurance gasoline engine is a 5.6-liter V8 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, making 390 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. You also have the option for a Cummins Turbo Diesel - a 5.0-liter V8 that makes 301 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. The regular engine can tow up to 11,590 pounds and has a maximum payload of 2,910 pounds, while the diesel can tow up to 12,640 pounds and its payload tops out at 2,420 pounds.

Plus, the Titan XD is available with an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, A Rear Hitch Alignment Camera, And A Remote Trailer Light Check. These features let you tow with confidence and ease, while a Frame-Mounted Gooseneck Hitch built right into the frame ensures strength and capability. The Nissan pickup is also equipped with Heavy-Duty Suspension, 14-inch ventilated disc brakes, and a high-strength steel frame.

Interior

The 2017 Titan XD is available in five trims - S, SV, Pro-4X, SL, and Platinum Reserve - and either Single, King, or Crew Cab. The S and SV trims are available with any size cab, while the Pro-4X is a King or Crew only, and the SL and Platinum Reserve are Crew Cab only.

The Titan XD is available with heated and cooled front seats, heated outboard seats, leather-appointed seating, heated steering wheel, and open-pore wood trim.

Even if you plan on using the Titan XD for professional purposes, you want some tech and convenience features - and Nissan delivers. The pickup comes standard with Bluetooth HandsFree Phone System, Nissan Intelligent Key with push-button ignition, USB port, and audio system with 5-inch display.

Additionally, it comes available with an Advanced Drive-Assist Display, NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps, Voice Recognition for audio and navigation, and NissanConnect Services powered by Sirius XM Radio. Other available features include a RearView mirror, Around View Monitor, dual-zone temperature control, remote engine start, HomeLink universal transmitter, auto-dimming rearview mirror and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Active driver assistance technologies include Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Moving Object Detection.
